Since it's difficult to keep track of the progress of the team without coming into the shop, we're going to regularly post updates on team activities here on the website. We'll also be posting information about when work is being done, so you can get involved if you wish to.
September and October have flown by and we're making good progress. Alex and Jeremy have finished designing the chassis, with construction set to begin once the steel arrives. Our efforts have largely been in accurately modelling each part we will be using, as well as preparing the shop for an extended construction phase.
A great deal of the new parts and tools we will be using in the 2008 car were ordered during October and have begun arriving. These include a plasma cutter, high compression pistons, linear position sensors, a new engine control unit and a dry sump kit.
If you would like get involved, show up at our shop on our shop nights, which generally happen on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9pm. Sometimes schoolwork dictates otherwise, so give the shop a call (check Contact section) before you come in to check.
