Engine Rebuilding Weekend
We're going to be rebuilding our third GSX-R600 engine for use in the 2008 car on the weekend of November 17-18th. Chris Quinke, one of our long-time team members, will be leading the project. We will be installing the new high compression pistons, replacing gaskets where necessary, and ensuring that the engine is ready to run. If we're lucky, we'll also be able to get it running with the new ECU that has just arrived. We'll be getting started fairly early and it will likely take the better part of Saturday and Sunday. Anyone is welcome.
UPDATE: Postponed due to schoolwork. Will be rescheduled shortly.

Team Update - November 3, 2007
Since it's difficult to keep track of the progress of the team without coming into the shop, we're going to regularly post updates on team activities here on the website. We'll also be posting information about when work is being done, so you can get involved if you wish to.
September and October have flown by and we're making good progress. Alex and Jeremy have finished designing the chassis, with construction set to begin once the steel arrives. Our efforts have largely been in accurately modelling each part we will be using, as well as preparing the shop for an extended construction phase.
A great deal of the new parts and tools we will be using in the 2008 car were ordered during October and have begun arriving. These include a plasma cutter, high compression pistons, linear position sensors, a new engine control unit and a dry sump kit.
If you would like get involved, show up at our shop on our shop nights, which generally happen on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9pm. Sometimes schoolwork dictates otherwise, so give the shop a call (check Contact section) before you come in to check.

Website Changes
Changes have been made to the blog/news for the site. We are now using blogger since it offers a little more configuration so now it should look a little better with our site. There are other nice features, but the main one is that you can automatically post to the blog by sending an e-mail to the address that this e-mail is being sent to. This can easily be changed should a spammer get it. Also we can allow different users to post to the blog which will be good in getting people involved with the car. I see this being used by different team members to send out updates on how the car is progressing. This could be useful for other team members, sponsors, and people who are just interested in our team!
I updated the sponsor page included the benefits of being a sponsor and a thanks to the sponsors that we have by including their logo and some links to their site.
Also updated the colours of the site to match the UoG colours. Let me know if there is anything else that needs to be added to the site or other things that you would like to see. I know there are some formatting issues with fonts, but I haven't had the time to figure out why some sections aren't working with the css.
